Yes, I was one of those rabid fashion-lovers excited to get some more affordable Phillip Lim-designed clothes. I stayed up until 2am Pacific time to see if the things I wanted most (ie the purses) would come online BUT THEY NEVER DID. Target release the collection (purposely? accidentally? I don’t know) one by one infuriatingly. I sat for three hours while my boyfriend and brother giggled at my obsessive refreshing the Target page and Twitter with the #philliplimfortarget hashtag.
I’m sure I’ve mentioned it here a million times, but I do have the most amazing boyfriend/future husband (still deciding on rings and budget). After staying up till 3am, my BF and I schlepped down to our local Target right at 7:45am. I was a little surprised to see a line at my target. I don’t really live in that big of a city. There were women dressed to the nines in studded stilletos and leather mini-skirts. A few of us had obviously rolled out of bed, no time for coffee or even basic hygiene.
My Target hadn’t even put out the merchandise apart from the Pashli mini lookalike purses. I grabbed a black one after all the other colors went. Then the exasperated Target worker rolled boxes of the Phillip Lim collection out and before they got to the area, the stiletto-ed women ripped the boxes open and started digging! Me, being a little more mild-mannered, ended up with the ‘Boom’ sweater and scarf, no chance to grab either in animal-print and a black mini purse. I grabbed a larger one but decided against it because I’m trying to cut down on the amount of crap I carry with me and there was a sad looking mom with a screaming child who seemed like she wanted it.
Guess it was just practice for Black Friday and the Isabel Marant for Target collection coming soon? I probably won’t waste my time with online shopping again and just enjoy my sleep!
After the shopping madness, the BF made me and my brother some pumpkin french toast. He plopped a good 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree in the normal egg mixture and added more pumpkin pie spices, like cinnamon, nutmeg, clove. It was heaven after such an early Sunday morning of shopping.
